When overnight temperatures drop below freezing, water remaining in an outdoor tap and the short section of exposed pipe behind it can freeze and expand, cracking the tap body or the adjacent pipe fitting and causing a burst that may not be discovered until the next time the tap is used — often resulting in water damage inside the house if the internal stopcock was left open. The cover wraps around the tap and is secured with 14cm hook-and-loop straps, fitting most standard outside tap types and sizes without tools or permanent fitting. The waterproof leather outer prevents rain and moisture penetration, and the non-slip matt finish allows the cover to be handled and positioned easily. Available in Green and Black.
