Why You’ll Love It

The Maison & White traditional gingham-print lids give homemade preserves and chutneys a classic, artisan presentation that plain metal screw-top lids do not provide, making jarred gifts look considered and handcrafted rather than functional when given to family and friends — Plain metal or plain plastic lids on glass jars have an industrial appearance that reads as a functional storage container rather than a finished product, and require an additional label or decorative topper to be added before the jar can be presented as a gift — the gingham-print lids on these Maison & White jars give each jar a traditional preserve appearance from the outset, so homemade jams, chutneys and marmalades stored in them are ready to present or gift without additional decoration being required.
The Maison & White wide mouth opening on each jar allows thick preserves, chunky chutneys and whole-fruit jams to be spooned cleanly into and out of the jar without the contents catching on a narrow neck, and makes cleaning the inside of the jar straightforward after the contents have been used — Standard narrow-mouth jam jars with openings below 6cm in diameter cause thick preserves to catch and smear on the inside of the neck during filling and spooning, leaving residue that is difficult to clean from the inner surface of the narrow neck with a standard sponge or brush — the wide mouth design of these jars allows a standard dessertspoon or preserve funnel to pass cleanly through the opening without contact with the neck, and a standard sponge reaches the full inner surface of the jar during cleaning without requiring a narrow bottle brush.
The Maison & White 324ml capacity provides a practical single-batch size for homemade preserves that fills one jar per standard small-batch recipe without leaving a partially filled jar that creates storage and presentation inconsistencies across a set of jars made from the same batch — Smaller jam jars with capacities of 100ml to 200ml require a single standard-batch recipe to be split across three to six jars, and larger jars with capacities above 450ml may not be fully filled by a small-batch recipe, leaving a partially filled jar that deteriorates faster than a full sealed jar and looks inconsistent alongside the full jars from the same batch — the 324ml capacity of these jars is sized to receive a standard small-batch preserve recipe across one or two jars, producing consistently filled jars across the set with minimal leftover.
